Over time, the deck belt on your Cub Cadet zero turn mower will experience typical wear and tear, and will eventually need replacement. If you don't replace your Cub Cadet belt in a timely manner, your machine might experience greater damage than necessary. Whenever you're changing or replacing the parts on your Cub Cadet equipment, make sure you refer to your owner's manual for specific instructions. To replace the deck belt on your Cub Cadet Z-Force 44 Riding Lawn Mower, follow this guide.

Cub Cadet Z-Force 44 Deck Belt Replacement Guide

1. Prepare the mower for maintenance by placing your zero-turn on a level, flat surface. Before beginning any work, be sure the mower is off and the engine's had time to cool. Disconnect the spark plug ignition wire and make sure you engage the parking brake. This ensures your safety, and the safety of those near you.

2. Remove the deck belt rod. Take the belt-keeper rod off and then remove the deck belt from the mower engine pulley.

3. Lower the deck height. Adjust your deck lift lever so it is in the highest possible position, and slide in wooden blocks for more support. Now lower the deck of your mower onto the wooden blocks.

4. Release the deck. You'll want to release the deck from the hangar brackets by removing the left and right J-Hooks. Now, carefully remove the wooden blocks from under the deck to lower it even further. Remove the click pin from the front deck hangar rod.

5. Remove the mower deck. Begin by putting the deck height lever back in the highest possible position, and then turn the front wheels to the left. Slide the cutting deck out and to the right. If you find that you need to replace any other parts on your mower deck, now is the time to do so.

6. Remove mower deck belt covers by using a ratchet. Also remove the nuts and bolts that secure the belt keeper to the deck idler pulley. Separate pulleys.

7. Replacement time. Move the left idler pulley away from the machine, and lift off the old mower deck belt. Now you can loop the new deck belt around both pulleys. Reassemble nuts, bolts, pulleys, and covers. Follow the previous steps in reverse to complete step 7.

8. Replace the zero-turn mower deck by sliding the deck back underneath the mower. Maneuver the new lawn mower deck belt around the engine pulley, and secure it in place with the rivet and rod.

9. Replace hangar brackets. Put the click pin back into the deck's front hangar rod. Now replace the J-hooks back into their brackets on the left and right.

Once you've replaced all necessary components, reconnect the spark plug ignition wire and raise or lower the deck so it's back to your standard mowing height–replacement completed. For assistance with Cub Cadet replacement parts, contact a CC Parts n' More specialist

I have a Club Cadet Z Force Zero Turn.( Model 53AA5A6L710)

When I was Given this Mower it was Minus the Cutting Deck Belts plus no Manual.

Now My question is...does this Deck have 2 x Belts as there is a Double Tension Pulley on this Deck  .One Groove Takes an A Section Belt and the Other takes a B Section.

This B Section looks like it goes back to the Engine

Most parts Stores are Saying that there is only the One Belt involved but this is not the Case as the Deck Throws off a One piece Belt everytime the Cutter is on.

I am getting ready to Remove the 20hp Motor now to Cut Costs of all the Repairs that I have Made.
