November 30th, 2023 at 6:21 pm   starstarstarstarstar

The Cub Cadet 2X 24 INTELLIPOWER snow blower is a reliable and powerful machine designed to tackle the toughest snow removal tasks. One crucial component of this snow blower is the auger belt, responsible for driving the auger blades and propelling the machine forward. Over time, the auger belt may wear out or break, requiring replacement to ensure optimal performance.

Materials Needed:

• New auger belt compatible with Cub Cadet 2X 24 INTELLIPOWER.

• Socket wrench set.

• Flathead screwdriver.

• Work gloves.

• Safety glasses.

Step 1: Preparation

Before you begin, make sure your snow blower is turned off and that the spark plug wire is disconnected to prevent any accidental starts. Additionally, wear your work gloves and safety glasses for protection during the process.

Step 2: Accessing the Auger Belt

Locate the auger belt cover on the front of the snow blower. Using a socket wrench, remove the bolts securing the cover in place. Once the cover is removed, you'll have clear access to the auger belt and pulley system.

Step 3: Removing the Old Auger Belt

Inspect the existing auger belt for any signs of damage or wear. Using a flathead screwdriver, gently pry the old belt off the pulleys. Take note of the belt's routing to ensure proper installation of the new belt.

Step 4: Installing the New Auger Belt

Place the new auger belt onto the pulleys, following the same routing as the old belt. Ensure the belt is seated securely on all pulleys, as proper alignment is crucial for optimal performance.

Step 5: Replacing the Auger Belt Cover

Once the new belt is in place, reattach the auger belt cover using the socket wrench and bolts. Tighten the bolts securely but avoid over-tightening, as it may damage the cover or the snow blower housing.

Step 6: Testing the Snow Blower

Reconnect the spark plug wire and start the snow blower. Engage the auger to verify that the new belt is functioning correctly. Listen for any unusual noises or vibrations, which could indicate a misalignment.
