December 28th, 2023 at 7:44 pm   starstarstarstarstar

The drive belt in your Cub Cadet 2X 24 INTELLIPOWER snow blower is a critical component responsible for transferring power from the engine to the wheels, enabling the machine to move forward or backward. Over time, the drive belt may wear out or break, affecting the snow blower's performance. This guide will take you through the step-by-step process of replacing the drive belt on your Cub Cadet snow blower.

Materials Needed:

Step 1: Safety First

Ensure your snow blower is turned off, and the spark plug wire is disconnected to prevent accidental starts. Wear safety glasses and work gloves throughout the process for protection.

Step 2: Accessing the Drive Belt

Locate the drive belt under the snow blower. You may need to remove the bottom cover or access panel to reach the drive belt. Use a screwdriver or a socket set to carefully remove any screws securing the cover.

Step 3: Remove the Old Drive Belt

Inspect the old drive belt for wear, cracks, or signs of damage. Use pliers to release tension on the drive belt, and then slide it off the pulleys.

Step 4: Install the New Drive Belt

Place the new drive belt onto the pulleys, following the same configuration as the old belt. Ensure the belt is properly seated in the grooves of the pulleys.

Step 5: Tension the Drive Belt

Using pliers, gently apply tension to the new drive belt by pulling it over the pulleys. Make sure it sits snugly in place.

Step 6: Reassemble the Cover

Reattach the bottom cover or access panel and secure it in place with the screws you removed earlier. Tighten the screws to ensure a secure fit.

Step 7: Test the Snow Blower

Reconnect the spark plug wire and start your Cub Cadet 2X 24 INTELLIPOWER snow blower. Engage the drive to ensure that the new belt is functioning properly. Test both forward and reverse movements to confirm that the drive system is operating smoothly.
